Norfolk Helps Renovate Pine Street Inn
Ribbon Cutting Held to Celebrate the Renovation
Norfolk Hardware & Home Center, WCVB Channel 5, and Pine Street Inn recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the renovation of the “5 Fixer Upper” project at Pine Street Inn’s Yearwood House (459 Park Drive in Boston). This “5 Fixer Upper” project was part of WCVB Channel 5’s Media Partnership with Pine Street Inn for the organization’s 50th Anniversary. The makeover provided a fresh, comfortable space for the twenty-two tenants who live there.
Norfolk, Discover Marble & Granite, and other suppliers generously donated their products and services to make this transformation a reality, including the complete renovation of three kitchens, multiple baths, as well as new paint and furniture for the common areas. We used our stock natural maple shaker door cabinets and quartz countertops from Viatera!
About Pine Street Inn/Yearwood House
Now in its 50th Anniversary year, Pine Street Inn is the largest homeless services provider in New England, offering a comprehensive range of programs to support men and women in moving off the street, out of the shelter and into a home and community.
First opened in 2006, the Yearwood House residence is a partnership of Pine Street Inn and Trinity Church. The building is named in honor of Trinity verger Bob Yearwood and his 30+ years of ministry to homeless men and women in Copley Square. Trinity Church, a long-time supporter of Pine Street, made a significant gift to help purchase 459 Park Drive. Parishioners raised additional monies to purchase furnishings and housewares and have supported tenants through ongoing volunteer activities.
